Leyendo blogs y esas cosas que a los emprendedores nos encanta twittear sin parar he encontrado las claves para crear un evento de networking inolvidable según Maye Mac-Swiney:

1. WiFi gratis – ¿Cómo? ¿Todavía hay eventos en los que no lo hay? Pues desgraciadamente los hay, pero este es más un problema del venue que no del organizador. Sin embargo, y si quieres organizar un evento, asegúrate de que el sitio tenga WiFi y de que vaya a una velocidad decente. Los asistentes suelen ir a los eventos en horas de trabajo y por lo tanto, la conectividad es un must. Si has logrado que el sitio te proporcione una buena conexión WiFi, comunícalo por todos sitios, y si puedes incluso personalizar el password de acceso con el título del evento, mucho mejor.

1. Interactividad continua – Aprovéchate de herramientas tan útiles como Twitter y sus Hashtags y habilita una pantalla exclusivamente para este tipo de interacciones. ¿No te ha pasado que llega el turno de preguntas y nadie se atreve a hacer la primera, o la segunda o ninguna pregunta? ¡Ah, pero como cambia la cosa si tenemos una cuenta de Twitter…! Todos usamos el Hashtag sin pensárnoslo. Es una excelente manera de incentivar la interacción entre asistentes y ponentes. El coffee break luego es el lugar perfecto para desvirtualizarse. 1. Badges/Acreditaciones bien grandes – Para que el momento del networking no se convierta en una cacería furtiva e indiscreta de personas a las que no alcanzas a verles el nombre a menos que te pongas a 20 cm de distancia. Además de procurar hacer estos materiales grandes, también es recomendable, claro, si el asistente lo permite, poner su perfil social, ya sea el Twitter o el LinkedIn para lograr que el contacto prevalezca  y no sólo quede en el evento.

1. Chill out area – Un lugar exclusivo para desconectar un momento del bombardeo de información del evento. De preferencia que esté algo alejado de la sala en donde se hace la charla para que los asistentes puedan realmente desconectar del ambiente y para que no molesten al ponente. Echa tu imaginación a volar, en el chill out puede haber: desde sólo sillones, pufs y cojines hasta una pantalla con una Wii o una película para relajar el ambiente. Si hay chuches o algo con azúcar, mucho mejor, así les darás ese chute de energía que necesitan y es un poquito más barato que el café…

1. Unconference area – Habilita un área que esté destinada a tratar temas que sean de interés para los asistentes y que no aparezcan en el programa del evento. No tiene que ser una sala para 200 personas y súper equipada; basta con un pequeño espacio con sillas o sillones en donde los asistentes puedan reunirse para compartir o resolver sus inquietudes con gente que haya vivido las mismas experiencias.

1. VideoBox – Esta herramienta es muy divertida y a la vez muy útil. Lo único malo es que quizás no es apta para todos los eventos. Consiste en poner una sencilla cabina de video (o sólo una cámara con las instrucciones de cómo funciona) en la que los asistentes puedan grabar individualmente o en grupo algún mensaje con su experiencia del evento. Si editas este video con algunas frases o conclusiones de las ponencias y con los mejores testimoniales tendrás una excelente herramienta de marketing viral que te servirá para tres cosas: 1) hacer ruido de tu evento 2) para promocionar más eventos que organices y 3) para enviarlo a manera de recuerdo a tus asistentes

Today 22.03.12 we woke up at 6:00 o´clock in the morning to prepare for going to the event. Then we met with Liher at 7:00 o´clock and walked to the Keiretsu Forum. We arrived at 7:20 to the building and we took the elevator to the 9^th floor. Before enterring we took the acreditations and after that we enterred the room and saw that there was breakfast for us. We took a sit and the event started. All the people around us was wearing elegant clothes and all of them were much older than us.

The first project pitched in this forum was called “Local Food”, which was presented by the Founder and CEO of the company. This big corporation is about food and among their customers they have Whole foods Market, Cisco…

The second one was “Amour Vert”. This company was about ecologic clothing and the man showed us a catalogue with all their dresses and clothes, that were mainly for women. This dresses were made out of silk and other kind matterials, that are ecologically friendly and organic and they look pretty well. This man sells his clothes through some stores in the USA and appart of that owns other ones in Europe.

The third project was called “Trip allertz”. It was about voyages and trips.

The fourth one was focused on pregnant girls, it was called “Lifeway story”.

And the last but not least was “My Cast”. It was presented by an Italian man , who told that he sold his company when he was 28 for 40 Million $. This man when we spoke with him he told us that he sold in Spain to the Basque Country, to ETB, for Betizu program. His project connected Television with internet and with interaction. It was great.

So as you can see we have been around big projects, that have been presented in front of serious investors. We also got astonished to be in that same room with all those people next to us and who were talking about huge amounts of money. Appart of that we have found out that pitches can change their order but not their structure. The most important things in a pitch presentation are these:

1- Clear introduction

2- Team background of each member

3- Business Model

4- Problem and core solution

5- Milestones and plans and numbers for the future
